Introducing our 9th and 10th March Online Only Auction

Following on from our two day sale in February we are delighted to bring you this, our second auction catalogue of 2021.  Together with our February sale this catalogue offers a wide range of lots taking us to well over 500 lots offered so far this year.

If you are reading this introduction from the printed version of our catalogue I would encourage you to log into our web site and keep an eye out for late entries that may well appear in the lead up to the auction but where instructions were received too late for the property to be included in this printed catalogue.

This sale represents a critical opportunity for buyers.  With the stamp duty holiday ending on 31st March, many of our sellers are not requiring, but offering the opportunity to complete your purchase before the stamp duty holiday ends which of course could save you significant amounts in tax. Please make sure you check the special conditions of sale (these are different for each lot) available to download free of charge from our web site.

As with any auction whether it be online or in a ballroom venue, we have obligations to carry out anti money laundering checks on all bidders. As we are currently only able to conduct the sale online, this means we don’t get to meet you and verify your ID documents in person. Up until this sale the ID verification has been a two stage process but, I am delighted to announce we have now streamlined this part of the bidder registration process.  When you register to bid, at one stage in the process you will be asked to download an app (or use your web cam) to do ID verification through our provider Credas.  This is a secure platform and our data is kept secure, the best part is that once you have completed Credas with us, we won’t need to ask you to do it again for 12 months.

Finally, I want to appeal to all our prospective buyers to carry out proper due diligence before bidding.  This is an online auction and your bid is binding once you have submitted it, you cannot withdraw a bid and, if yours is the highest final bid and this is at a level acceptable to the seller then and at the fall of the electronic gavel, you have entered a binding exchange of contracts to purchase.

We are here to assist with all your enquiries in the lead up to the auction, legal packs are available and if after all of this you remain unsure, please ask us again and ultimately, if you remain uncertain do not bid.  It’s as easy to get carried away with bidding online as it is in an auction venue itself, your auction experience should be a great one and hopefully profitable and it will be if you do your due diligence properly.  If you bid blind and have not carried out your due diligence it is at your risk and you must accept this to be the case.

I hope you find lots of opportunities in this catalogue, we remain able to do Covid secure viewings and have strict procedures in place to enable this, please respect these procedures and abide by the requests of my viewing staff, they are there to ensure your safety as much as that of other viewers.

Please call us with any questions you have in the lead up to the auction and don’t forget, to be able to bid you must register to bid by Friday 5th March

Wishing you the very best of luck with your bidding and we look forward to seeing you at our auction venue as soon as we are able to hold a venue based auction.
