Introducing our April Auction
This is our third auction sale of the year and as we publish this catalogue over the Easter bank holiday weekend, I take this opportunity to wish you all and enjoyable Easter break.
It has been a really busy start to the year for us at Barnard Marcus Auctions.Already from our first two sales, compared to the same sales last year and, excluding this catalogue the total number of lots that we have offered is up by 119 lots, over a third increase in the number of lots offered for the same period last year.
This is certainly bucking the trend of many auctioneers and importantly, our sales are also up by over 30% in volume and, capital value of sales already tops £50 million, an increase of over 20% compared to the same period last year.
Whilst of course we are delighted with the statistics, there is an important underlying message for you, our prospective buyers.It demonstrates not only are sellers opting to use Barnard Marcus Auctions for their auction disposals but, clearly demonstrates that our pricing policy when setting reserves is clearly in line with market conditions.This is certainly contrary to many other auctioneers that have seen their volumes of instructions fall, sales volumes fall, capital value of sales fall and sale success rates plummet.
The market certainly agrees with us month in month out as we produce catalogues where the vast majority of lots offered are sensibly priced and represent value for money.
With this in mind, I hope you enjoy reading through this catalogue and I am sure you will find a great selection of lots that represent fabulous value for money and possibly, a few bargains.
