Introducing our 21st May Auction

Welcome to our Spring auction catalogue for the sale taking place on Tuesday 21st May. This catalogue very much starts our Summer season of auctions where we shall continue to hold a sale every month through until (and including) July. In fact, we are one of the only London based national auctioneers to maintain such a schedule of auction sales.

On 9th April we held our third auction of the year with our results in total showing so far that we have already sold over 350 lots this year at a capital value of some £70 million.

In the background to all of this, the political climate remains fluid and those “sitting on the fence” waiting for the outcome of Brexit are left to sit for a while longer yet.

The resurgence of activity from buyers that I mentioned in last month introduction is however continuing. This is not only evident in our auction sale rooms but also, throughout our group estate agency branch network throughout the UK.

There will always of course be a degree of ebb and flow in any market and property investment, development and ownership, is not immune to this. We do however remain in an historically low interest rate market for borrowers and, with recent price reductions that we have seen I believe now there are some fantastic opportunities available. Turning to this sale I am especially pleased to bring you a significantly varied selection of lots. Whether you are looking for a Central London pad (see lots being offered on behalf of Westminster City and others) or, perhaps something by the sea for a summer retreat (see lot 69 in Bognor) I feel sure there is something within this sale for everyone. Indeed we are offering such a variety of lots from land to executive homes in premier locations in Surrey, industrial investments in Sutton with lots as far afield as between Devon and Scotland

Please however remember to be a prudent buyer. Make sure that you have not only seen the property that  you are looking to bid for but also downloaded the legal pack, taken proper advice from your solicitor or conveyancer and other specialist advice from surveyors and others where required. On the day of the auction you will need to pay your deposit in cleared funds and make sure before you bid that you have finance arrangements in place for completion.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Grand Connaught Rooms on Tuesday 21st May and in the lead up to the auction we are here to assist with all your enquiries so please give us a call. Wishing you the best of luck with your bidding on the day.
